Full review
Home.co.uk has been quietly serving the UK property market since 1996, making it one of the oldest property search sites in the country. While it lacks the brand recognition of Rightmove or Zoopla, it offers something neither of those portals does — genuine meta-search across multiple listing sources.
The rental search covers all UK property types with filters for detached, semi-detached, terraced houses and flats. The recently refreshed interface at home.co.uk/to-rent/ is cleaner than the legacy site, with map-based searching and sensible price and bedroom filters. You can also filter by listing age and exclude properties already marked as let agreed.
Where Home.co.uk really shines is its market data. The rental prices section provides average rents by postcode, town, and region — invaluable for understanding whether a listing is fairly priced. The letting agent directory is also useful for finding local agents you might not discover through the major portals alone.
The main drawback is the lack of a mobile app and the fact that clicking on listings takes you to the source site. But for desktop-based research and getting a comprehensive view of what is available across the market, Home.co.uk is an underrated tool that deserves more attention.
Pros
['Aggregates listings from multiple portals into one search', 'Excellent market rent data and area statistics', 'Filter by property type: detached, semi, terraced, flat', 'Letting agent directory to find local agents', 'Independent platform — not tied to any single portal']
Cons
['No mobile app available', 'Interface looks dated compared to major portals', 'Listings link out to source sites rather than applying directly', 'Smaller brand recognition than Rightmove or Zoopla']
Watch out
Listings are aggregated from other sites, so you will be redirected when you click through. Some listings may already be let by the time you find them on Home.co.uk. Always check the source site for the latest availability.
