Full review

Flatmates.com.au presents a substantial array of over 100,000 listings for shared accommodation, go-to platform for many Australians. The user-friendly app allows quick browsing and easy communication with potential flatmates. Users can find everything from simple room rentals to granny flats, catering to diverse needs.

Despite its extensive offerings, users should be aware of potential scams. Listings can occasionally be misleading, leading to frustrations when the accommodation doesn't match the description. The platform lacks customer support, which can leave users without help when issues arise.

Vetting potential flatmates is crucial, as the platform does not guarantee rental agreements. This responsibility falls on users, making thorough communication and background checks essential before agreeing to any arrangement. While the site is free to use, the reliance on user-generated content means that quality can vary widely.

For those seeking alternatives, platforms like Gumtree and Roommates.com also provide shared accommodation options. Ultimately, while Flatmates.com.au is a valuable resource, users need to navigate it with caution and diligence.
